Device grading

Consistent device grading

Global Cell lists every device against one of four cosmetic condition grades: Mint, Excellent, Good and Fair. Condition is a real product option, so the grade you select is the grade that is priced, reserved from inventory and fulfilled.

The four grades

Our grades describe how a device presents cosmetically. They are ordered below from the highest presenting stock down to our entry grade. Each grade is held as its own variant, so the grade you order is the grade that is picked and shipped.

Grade Position What it means
Mint Highest Our highest cosmetic grade. Reserved for the best presenting stock available for a given model, and chosen by buyers who need units that look as close to new as our inventory allows.
Excellent Second A high cosmetic grade sitting directly below Mint. Units present very well and suit retail resale where appearance is part of the offer.
Good Third A mid cosmetic grade below Excellent. Units show more visible signs of previous use than the grades above and are commonly bought for value-led resale.
Fair Entry Our entry cosmetic grade, positioned below Good. Units show the most visible cosmetic wear of the four grades and are typically bought on price or for repair and parts programmes.

Condition grades describe cosmetic appearance. If you need further detail on a particular grade for a specific model before committing to a volume order, raise it through Request a Quote and we will cover it with you directly.

Where the grade appears

The grade travels with the device through the whole buying process, so there is never any ambiguity about what was ordered.
